Over the last century many of the most prominent European photographers have photographed Blackpool, including Ian BerryAlfred GregoryPeter MarlowMartin ParrTony Ray-Jones,  Chris Steele-Perkins and Homer Sykes.  But how do their photographs taken on the Promenade, at the Pleasure Beach or on the sands differ from the thousands that have already been taken there before?

The current exhibition at Grundy Art Gallery, Mass Photography: Blackpool through the camera, has been curated by German video artist, Nina Konnemann.  Konnemann has selected images of Blackpool taken by recognised artists, Blackpool's own archives and material discovered on the internet site Flickr.

The exhibition runs until the 5th of November. For more information, click here.
